The book, Essay Writing: A Guide to Essay Structure & Different Rhetorical Patterns, is an exceedingly useful tool that instructively assists students by providing them with professionally-written, model essays in nine modes - description, definition, exemplification, process, comparison and contrast, classification, cause and effect, argumentation, and narration with accompanying outlines and brief, easy-to-follow explanations. This user friendly book also contains much requested information on the parts of any essay, how to write an essay paragraph by paragraph, thesis statement composing, general guidelines for formal writing, various introductory techniques with examples and a sundry of other valuable knowledge such as categorized transitional words and phrases, proper title facts, audience and purpose advice, and short, educational information on the similarities and differences of essays and research papers. As an added edification, the topics of some of the essays are intriguing and beneficial. The author has been tutoring and teaching English courses at a college for thirty years and has co-hosted a grammar television show.
